LiteBlue Locked Out: Account Recovery Decision Guide

A lockout can mean several different things. The fastest route depends on whether you lost a password, lost your MFA device, or can sign in to LiteBlue but cannot open an employee application.

Reviewed 2026-10-03 • Primary sources: USPS public materials
Account security: Enter Employee ID, password, MFA codes, banking changes and other sensitive account information only inside the official LiteBlue USPS.gov portal.

If the password is the problem

Use the official password recovery process linked from USPS.

If the MFA device is the problem

Use Self-Service MFA Reset from the LiteBlue login page. USPS says a manager approval step is part of this process.

If you still have one MFA method

Sign in and add a backup method through Self-Service Profile before replacing or wiping a device.

If self-service recovery is unavailable

USPS directs employees to the IT Service Desk at 800-877-7435 for LiteBlue technical assistance.
